About the event
Parent Alliance for Black Scholars (PABS), Started in 2015, consists of a diverse group of parent advocates of students of color, with special focus paid to the success of students of color in the Bellevue School District.
Over the years, this group has focused on impacting success through:
· creating community
· celebrating the accomplishments
· working with and holding the Bellevue School Board and administration accountable for ensuring that students and families of color have a voice in district decisions and
· driving the development and passing of the 2019 BSD Equity Policy.
Students of color have been exposed to and look forward to opportunities such as:
· Boom and Shout
· Youth in Government
· Global Teens, and
· Being brought together for the annual Rite of Passage ceremony
(PABS) is recognized by the BSD and administration as the voice of the black and brown community, however, we cannot determine how we move forward without the voices of the families of the students.
Please plan to attend the Bellevue Schools Family Engagement and Parent Alliance for Black Scholars Caucus.
