PABS: Executive Board Member

​

Paul Sutton is a Bellevue father of two school-aged children and is married to a high school Science teacher. He is a life-long educator and has taught on three continents including as a teacher of English as second language in Bournemouth, England and Istanbul, Turkey. He has taught high school English and various writing courses in local community colleges. In 2014 he received a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in Teacher Education from the University of Washington.

 

Paul has deep experience working in high needs, high poverty, highly diverse K-12 schools and uses his education and training to help make schools and classrooms more equitable spaces for all students. He is now working as an Assistant Professor of Education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington where he prepares people to teach in K-12 classrooms. When he is not teaching or working in schools, he can be found cycling around Lake Washington or Lake Sammamish or spending time with his family.

Anthony Austin MBA is a business advisor in strategic marketing and nonprofit management with 10 years of analytical experience. Currently, he operates The Austin Agency LLC (www.austin-agency.com) which specializes in social justice advocacy and business strategy in Bellevue, WA. Anthony is passionate about volunteerism and remains active within the Eastside community. His nonprofit experiences include serving on multiple board-of-directors, such as: Bellevue Diversity Advisory Network (BDAN) as chairman; Renton Area Nonprofits Unite (RANU) as lead project manager; Immanuel Lutheran Church (ILC) Seattle, as a faith-formation program manager; and PABS.

In 2015, Anthony relocated with his family from Chicago, IL. He enjoys recreational basketball, cultural music - specially, Chicago House Music, playing chess, and taking vacations with his family. His professional hobbies are as a special events DJ, theater control-booth technician, and as a national gathering program manager. Anthony has obtained a bachelor of arts degree (architecture major) from Washington University in St. Louis, MO; and also, a dual master degree (MBA & Master in Project Mgmt) from Keller Graduate School of Mgmt at DeVry University in Chicago, IL.

Neely Pinnock

PABS: President

Neely Pinnock is a Director for Finance Business Intelligence supporting the Tax and Trade Group at Microsoft Corporation.  Neely is responsible for managing global trade standards and technology controls. She provides strategic direction, leadership, and vision. 

 

She has held multiple board positions with non-profits such as  Single Mothers Interchanging Love, Empathy, and Support (S.M.I.L.E.S) and Womens' Fund of Appleton. 

 

​

Neely has extensive global experience balancing compliance and  risk with driving corporate strategy. She is results focused, subject matter expert in interpreting and implementing regulations/laws, analyzing trade risks and developing negotiation strategies to meet business goals. She has a proven track record in increasing bottom-line impact through efficiency, accuracy and preventative compliance strategies.

Malinda Elien

Malinda is a parent of two mixed daughters in the Bellevue School District. After completing her term as PTA President at Eastgate Elementary, she now applies her knowledge, energy and passion towards advocating for equity for her daughters and all black students through the work of PABS.

 

Malinda, Certified Project Management Professional, is an Engineering and Project Manager by trade. She holds her Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT. In her spare time, Malinda enjoys her weekly Tap-dancing class and travelling with her husband and kids.
